Empowered By a Divine Calling

2004 - Present

A Seed Was Planted

Although I did not realize it at the time, God continued to prepare me for the ministry He would one day entrust to me.

In 2008, I attended a revival in Abilene, Texas, where Evangelist Todd Holmes was ministering. During one of the services, he invited anyone who desired to be used by God to come forward for prayer. I was one of many who responded to the invitation.

As he prayed, both my hands and my feet became intensely hot. The sensation was unlike anything I had ever experienced before.

After praying, Todd explained that people whose hands become hot are often being called into a healing ministry, while hot feet frequently symbolize a calling to travel in ministry.

Although I found his explanation interesting, I still didn't fully understand what it would mean for my own life. I tucked the experience away, never imagining that years later I would look back and recognize it as another step in God's preparation for the ministry He had planned all along.

Looking back now, I can clearly see that God was quietly planting another seed. Years before He publicly confirmed my calling, He was already revealing pieces of the ministry He had prepared for me.

At the time, I didn't realize I was standing at the beginning of a journey that would one day include both healing ministry and traveling from church to church proclaiming the Gospel.

The Vision

There are moments in our walk with God that forever change the course of our lives.

In 2018, while spending time in prayer, the Lord called me into ministry.

In a single moment, He showed me what He was calling me to do.

I saw an image of a black pickup truck, an image of a travel trailer, and images of churches. Although the images were separate, I immediately knew in my spirit that the Lord was calling me to travel from church to church to church, proclaiming the Gospel.

I was unsure how God was going to make it all work, but I knew that since He had called me into ministry and had shown me the truck and travel trailer, He was going to provide them. I didn't know when or how, but I knew it would happen.

Within a few months, I purchased a 24-foot travel trailer. About a year and a half later, the Lord also provided the black pickup truck I had seen in the vision.

As those pieces came together, I realized God wasn't simply providing transportation.

He was faithfully bringing to pass what He had already shown me.

Over the following week, during different times of prayer, the Lord continued showing me what He was calling me to do.

One of those times, He showed me another vision. I saw myself praying for people, and as I prayed, they were being healed by the power of God.

Not long afterward, I began praying for people more consistently, and I watched the Lord do exactly what He had shown me. He began healing people in ways that only He could receive the glory for.

What had once seemed impossible was becoming reality.

God wasn't asking me to create a ministry.

He was calling me to walk in the one He had already prepared.

Looking back over my life, I can now see that God was faithfully working long before I recognized what He was doing. There were seasons when I understood His plan and seasons when I didn't, yet He never stopped preparing me for the calling He had placed on my life.

God still works the same way today. He often prepares us long before we see the bigger picture. Our responsibility is not to understand every step but to remain faithful to the One who is leading us.

If God is calling you to something that seems beyond your ability, remember that He never calls us to walk alone. The One who calls us is also the One who equips us, guides us, and faithfully completes what He begins.

"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began."

The First Glimpse

Looking back, I can now see that God was preparing me for ministry long before I realized what He was doing. At the time, these moments seemed isolated, but each one became another step toward the calling He would later reveal.

In 2004, I prayed for someone for the very first time. It was my Aunt Pat.

Years earlier, she had been rear-ended in a car accident and suffered whiplash. Since then, she had been unable to turn her head to the left. To help manage her condition, she received botulinum injections in her neck several times each year.

I gently placed my hand on the back of her neck and began to pray.

As I prayed, she told me that her neck felt like it was on fire. She immediately knew that God was touching her, though neither of us yet realized the extent of what He was doing.

Then something caught her attention. Without thinking about it, she naturally turned her head.

A moment later, she stopped.

She realized she had just turned her head to the left—something she had been unable to do since the accident years before.

Although the pain had not yet left, God had restored the movement in her neck.

As a new Christian, I rejoiced in what the Lord had done, but I never considered that He might be preparing me for a healing ministry. To me, it was simply a beautiful reminder that God still answers prayer.

I had no idea that this first prayer would become the beginning of a journey that would unfold over many years.

Reflection

A Heart Fully Surrendered

Sometimes God prepares us for ministry not by changing our circumstances first, but by changing our hearts.

Between 2014 and 2017, I walked through one of the most difficult seasons of my life. Those years challenged me in ways I never expected, yet they also became some of the most spiritually transformative years of my journey.

During that season, I had an honest conversation with the Lord that forever changed my perspective.

I told Him, "From this day forward, the only person who will hinder my walk with You is me."

I realized that I could no longer allow circumstances, relationships, disappointments, or anything else to keep me from pursuing the Lord with my whole heart. If I wanted to grow closer to Him, the responsibility rested with me to seek Him wholeheartedly and obey whatever He asked of me.

That decision marked a turning point in my life.

It wasn't a promise that life would become easier or that I would never struggle again. It was a commitment that, whatever the future held, I wanted my relationship with God to be my highest priority.

Looking back now, I can see that before God entrusted me with a ministry, He first taught me what it meant to live with a surrendered heart.

CHAPTER

Walking in the Calling

As I began stepping out in faith, I watched the Lord faithfully confirm the calling He had placed on my life.

The visions He had given me were no longer just promises for the future—they were becoming reality.

As I prayed for people, I witnessed the Lord heal in ways that only He could receive the glory for. He also began speaking words of knowledge that brought encouragement, direction, and confirmation to those I ministered to. Each experience strengthened my confidence that I was simply following where He was leading.

Over time, the Lord also placed a burden on my heart for revival. I began praying that churches would once again experience the life-changing presence of the Holy Spirit. That burden only grew stronger until it became one of the central focuses of my ministry.

Today, my calling is to travel from church to church, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, praying for the sick, encouraging believers, and trusting the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do.

Looking back over the years, I can clearly see that God was preparing me long before I understood His plan. Every season, every hardship, every lesson, and every confirmation became part of His work in shaping my life for the ministry He had prepared.

My journey has taught me that when God calls us, He is also faithful to equip us, guide us, and accomplish His purpose in His perfect timing.

I don't know everywhere He will lead me in the years ahead, but I know this:

The same God who called me will faithfully direct every step of the journey.
